Choosing the right investment tools is essential for building wealth, and Fidelity offers some of the best options with its wide range of index funds. Among these, four standout options are tailored to different financial goals and investor profiles.
The Fidelity 500 Index Fund (FXAIX) tracks the S&P 500, offering exposure to large-cap U.S. companies across various industries. With a low expense ratio of just 0.015% and strong historical returns, this fund is a core holding for long-term investors seeking steady growth with relative stability.
The Fidelity Total Market Index Fund (FSKAX) provides exposure to the entire U.S. stock market, including large-, mid-, and small-cap companies. Its broad diversification makes it a comprehensive choice for those seeking a one-stop solution for their portfolio. While slightly more volatile due to smaller company exposure, its low expense ratio and historical returns make it an attractive option.
For international diversification, the Fidelity Total International Index Fund (FTIHX) focuses on markets outside the U.S., spanning developed and emerging economies. Although recent returns have lagged behind U.S. markets, the fund offers long-term potential and reduces reliance on domestic markets, making it a key addition for globally minded investors.
The Fidelity Freedom Index Funds are target-date funds designed for hands-off investors. These funds automatically adjust asset allocations over time, balancing growth and income preservation as retirement approaches. With low expense ratios and a diversified mix of asset classes, they simplify retirement planning for those seeking an easy, long-term solution.
These four Fidelity index funds cater to various investment strategies, from U.S.-focused growth to global diversification and hands-off retirement planning. Their low costs and potential for strong returns make them excellent options for building wealth over the long term.

This is a great video!

Really .. Joking .. Right ? 35% in 10 years.. With Silver Stocks ( SLV ) , I made over 200% in 22 days.. Pass..
😅what about FITLX?
FXAIX = VOO
FXFAX = VTI
Not sure if the zero funds were available when this video was posted, but FZILX is an international fund, zero expense ratio… and has been killing it in 2025. Another is FZROX.
The set it and forget it mentality is crazy! I prefer to stay on top of my stock index picks AND my bond purchases. I’m no expert but I’ve learned a lot since I retired and I am completely satisfied with doing the management myself and with the results we have attained. It’s really not that complicated.
I like Fidelity zero index funds but their customer service is almost as bad as Quickbooks
I just got 90% fxiax and 10% fspsx under my Roth IRA.
Is there a better method?
Made close to a million on a Fidelity small index stock fund.
If I have a llc as a foreigner in US, can I invest my profits into the fidelity indexes?
Please make sure you do the INDEX target funds, as there are Norma Freedom Funds that are actively managed so they have a much higher fee
Stop the BS
I just open a Roth IRA and I don’t know where to invest
yeah you straight asleep on FSPGX heavy on tech with booming AI. lowest fees also?. Bad call
None of these for me. I’m 82. No long time hold.
I bought FNILX about a year ago (June '24) and it's up 20.07% today. Not bad. 😁
Fsdax my goat
I bought Palantir on Election Day 2024 when it was at $54.99 and I’m up 300%.
Hello, I'm 50 and just opened a fidelity account but I'm currently investing $20. A week can you do a chart at about 12 yrs to retire.
This explains the swings nicely.
Wouldn’t fxaix and fskax overlap ? Im new to this so i don’t know much would those two be good to have in your index fund?
Just stick with FXAIX in the majority of your equity portfolio
I also like FSPGX
FCTDX has me YTD 37%
Vanguard has the cheapest fees in the industry
I'm surprised you didn't mention any Fidelity Zero funds
Great video
I have 65K to invest……in your opinion is the best account to have with fidelity?
I didnt even realize that I have FXAIX for more than 15 years now But I started from zero so no million yet, lol😊
So what's the difference buying these Index funds compared to ETFs, since these index funds sound a lot like ETFs
You should do a follow-up to this regarding the importance of investing in FTIHX given the current tariffs and that this fund did great this year so far.
Where would u rate these 7 months since u have done this video. A recap would be nice
The whole DONE thing is a bit weird but… Enjoyed the content otherwise.
Why. Not EFT
I need to get into ftihx and and fselx.
I like FITLX, FSPGX, FSPTX & FNILX
Can you invest when you are non US residence? and what is best to invest with less fees, low risk and high return?
I am 60 and I want to get into a Roth IRA. Where do I start this late in life?? Thank you!
Wouldn’t it be better to hold etf’s in a taxable account?
Phvck Fidelity. I bought 100,000 US of Swiss Francs, and they made such a bad exchange rate market order (the only kind you can place with them for foreign exchange) when I bought them, it cost 800 US. So I waited for them to go up 2 percent. And then when I sold them, they shaved another 800 US on the sale. I was like W T F! So of my right bet of a profit of 2100, Fidelity stole 1600 of that and that left me with 500…. so no, F! Fidelity….
I'm moving all my money out of Fidelity to somewhere… else.
FXAIX, FSKAX, FTIHX, Freedom Funds
Fxaix
It's a great fund. But when will you need the money? Can you handle a 40% or more drawdown?
Fxaix
Invest in FBNDX was a mistake. It has 5 morning stars😢
