  1. I have a suggestion with Defence funding.
Total budget for the 2026 is £1.5 Trillion
Ringfence 5% To The Defence of the Realm and that will be at £95 Billion.
As the economy improves the Defence budget at 5% will automatically increase.
The Type 45 Destroyer needs to be a ship manned replacement (Type 83) because drones/Hybrid navy will not work because of technology as failures and can not be fixed.

I suggest to Sky news should ask or suggest that the finical budget suggestion to the New PM Andy Burham.
    With Regards.

  2. If countries are going to spend increasingly more money on defence, they also need to address the mega wealthy tax issue. There is only so much money in the pot and taking more for defence will impact on services like health unless the billionaires and huge corporations pay their fair share of tax.

  3. In comparison to the US’ defense budget of 900 billion.

We are not getting our naval ships back in service & pivoting to the rule of thirds
Basically announced all service personnel are going issued another uniform

Without our armed forces; we’d be speaking German right now. So they should be a top priority regardless of what party is in power

  4. Only losers join the military to die for the whims of malicious far right politicians, zero sympathy, the UK needs less defense funding not more, if it can't even get basic human rights correct then there's not a real country worth protecting

  5. I think of equal importance is the education the people need in what National Resilience actually means. Its more than the Forces, its about civil defence, voluntary organisations capable of helping on a simple caring level. The frontline states get that.. we do not and have forgotten..

  6. Safer from what. Stop meddling in bloody foreign wars. It's not rocket science. Helped Israel kill thousands of babies and helped Ukraine where it was none of our concern

  7. Starmer has broken the basic rule again: press first, Parliament second.

This should have been set out properly to the House, not managed through a factory speech and media questions before MPs had the chance to scrutinise it.

And it is not really a plan.

He admits capital projects on roads and energy will be stopped or delayed to fund it. He admits defence only reaches 2.7% of GDP, with 3% pushed into the next Parliament. He talks about 5% wider security, but says this only reaches 4.2%.

So Britain gets fewer capital projects, no firm 3% timetable, no real 5% security settlement, and a drone-heavy announcement dressed up as strategy.

Trump will see straight through this at NATO. A lame-duck Prime Minister with a Treasury-shaped defence plan is not a serious long-term partner.

This is not national security planning. It is managed decline before the cameras.

  8. Stamer worst PM ever; he wanted to give away the Chagos Islands and the British taxpayers to pay between 30 to 90 billion depending on inflation. Traitor.

I demand an investigation about the failed fiasco's full cost, lawyers' fees, charges, expenses, reports, advice, etc. I also demand a change in the law so that this situation is not repeated and involved politicians are held in contempt and investigated as traitors or enemies of the state. THIS IS SERIOUS.

  9. We cant get people back into jobs, solve homelessness, solve benefit street… but we are amazing at spending money. Defense needs to be done….but they need to solve the money for buying stuff
