In 2006, Mostafa Terrab, one of this article’s co-authors, was appointed directeur général of OCP, a Moroccan fertilizer company. He was immediately charged with transforming the financially struggling phosphate-rock producer into a firm intent on feeding the world sustainably through high-quality plant and animal nutrition.
