Chase Lowers Referral Bonus Cap for Ink Card to 100,000/Year

A couple of months ago, Chase lowered the referral bonus on Ink business cards from 40,000 to 20,000 points. The maximum you could earn throughout the year for referrals still remained at 200,000 points.

But that is about to be cut down in half for next year. While the bonus that you earn for each referral will remain 20,000 Ultimate Rewards, the maximum you can earn will be 100,000 points. The change is shown on the Ink referral page.

“As of 12/31/2024 you’ll no longer be able to earn up to 200,000 bonus points per calendar year. Instead, you will be able to earn up to 100,000 bonus points per calendar year. That’s 20,000 bonus points for each business. up to 5, that gets approved.” Some people are seeing a different date of 12/31/2025 in the app, but that’s likely a typo.

A maximum for 5 referrals every year is probably still fine for most people. But I guess it’s bad news if you are popular enough to have more than 5 friends willing to use your referral link.
