Update: A trusted source tells me that the $300 Lululemon credit ($75/quarter) will be coming in the card refresh, and that ALL of the old credits will remain, including the $200 airline credit, the Walmart+ credit, Entertainment credit, Saks credit, Equinox credit, GE/Clear credit.

Update: one anonymous reader says: “Lululemon, entertainment (more entertaining than before), global entry, clear credits are all there. Saks and equinox gone.” We’ll update if we get confirmation on this.

Original Post:

In the wake of the leaked details on the American Express Business Platinum card, we’re now getting leaks with an image of the upcoming refresh on the consumer Platinum card. The refresh will go live on Thursday, 9/18/25.

  • Annual Fee: $895 – this is an increase from $695, we discussed this in a prior post

  • Additional Card Fee: $195 – same as with the current version of the card

  • No annual fee for companion Platinum cards – same as with the current version of the card

Featured Benefits:

  • 5x points on direct flights and on Amex Travel; 1x points on other purchases – same as with the current version of the card

  • Global Lounge Collection – same as with the current version of the card
  • $400 Resy credit ($100 per quarter) – this is a new benefit, we discussed this in a prior post

  • $600 semi-annual hotel credit (FHR any stay; THC min. 2-night stay) – this is an increase from the current $200 benefit, we discussed this in a prior post

  • $200 Uber Cash – same as with the current version of the card

  • $120 Uber One credit – this is a new benefit

What’s missing:

  • The biggest news here is that there’s no mention of the rumored $300 in Lululemon credits ($75/quarter), and it might be that idea was scrapped.
  • We also have no word yet on what the signup bonus will be.
  • We aren’t seeing in the image mention of the $200 airline incidental credit, the $12.99 monthly Walmart+ membership on the current card, the $100 Saks benefit, $240 digital entertainment credit, Global Entry and CLEAR credit, Equinox credit. I’m assuming the $200 airline credit will still be there and probably some of the others, and possibly some new ones. We don’t yet have the complete picture as this image just shows the featured benefits, not a full list.

The only solid new thing we’re learning is the $120 Uber One benefit and the $20 increase for the authorized user. It does seem likely that the Lululemon credit idea was scrapped, but not yet clear. Also not clear on which of the existing benefits are remaining.

Hat tip to reader K and to r/credit cards
