Bonus Eligibility Terms for Citi Strata Premier

When the Citi Strata Premier card first launched, it had the following terms regarding the welcome bonus:

“Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi Premier ® or a Citi Strata Premier ℠ account in the past 48 months.”

Recently that language has changed:

“Bonus ThankYou® Points are not available if you received a new account bonus for a Citi Premier® or Citi Strata Premier℠ account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi Premier® or Citi Strata Premier℠ account.”

This means that you should not upgrade an existing card to the Citi Strata Premier, if that card has earned a bonus in the last 48 months. Citi will send upgrade offers from time to time, so keep this new rule in mind when considering those offers.
