There is a report from the official Chase support on Reddit indicating that there is an upcoming upgrade bonus offer to entice those with a Sapphire Preferred card to upgrade to the Sapphire Reserve.

It’s worth adding context that this was commented in the welcome post where the subreddit welcomed u/Chase to the sub. And so I wouldn’t dismiss this as a young, over-enthusiastic Chase social media operator, rather it’s likely to be accurate (in my estimation).
Still, there are too many unknowns to attach much significance here:
- We don’t know how good the offer (“offers”?) will be.
- We don’t know when this offer will come out.
- Importantly: it’s possible that the offer will be targeted offer for select cardholders or will vary by cardholder.
In any case, if I were considering an upgrade, I might hold off for a few weeks to see if any upgrade offer materializes.
