Do This Now Before Uber Scams You Out Of Ridiculous Fees
What is the Uber foreign currency conversion fee anyway? It was a “genius” idea to try to help people understand how much things cost while overseas. To do that they instituted this program to charge everything you bill to your Uber account in your home currency. Sounds kind of nice, but we are smarter than that. We know it is always best to bill things in local currency. That is because a chunk of your money always gets “lost in translation” when doing it any other way.

Alaska Mileage Plan starting to sell mixed partner award flights
Alaska is finally starting to sell mixed partner awards online through Mileage Plan. Even though it currently seems to be limited to AA and BA only, that’s a great development. However, it’s concerning that these flights are being priced per segment as opposed to cumulative distance like all other Alaska awards. Hopefully that’s only a tech snafu as opposed to a permanent feature, but it’s something to be aware of as more mixed-partner awards come online.

American Airlines makes big, useful upgrade to AAdvantage accounts
The new view allows you to search for individual transactions, filter by different activity types (including flights and cobranded credit card spending) and sort by dates (such as the current or previous qualifying year). This new functionality should give frequent flyers a much deeper look into their accounts; power users will likely enjoy being able to slice and dice their data in new ways.
