Our Verdict

This could be a nice way for families to save on their Prime membership, if their child is willing to order for them through the Young Adult account.

I’m not sure exactly how wide the selection is for the 5%/10% cashback offering. The only way to tell would be to have a Young Adult account and see what shows up with the 5%/10% back badge. Eligible categories currently are: Beauty, Apparel, Electronics, Personal Care and Personal Computers.

The 10% on Prime Day might also stack with the 10% back via the Amazon credit card that always comes up on various items throughout the Prime Day season. Find all products eligible for 10% back at this link.

Also, for quite some time, Amazon also has offered 6 months free + discounted Prime to students, even those older than age 24. We wrote more about the perks of Amazon Student in this dedicated post. Students do not get the 5% cashback, but all other benefits are the same.
