We wrote about Bilt 2.0 in this prior post, and we shared some initial rumors about the Bilt cards in this post and even rumored full details of the card lineup. Today there were two new pieces of information:
- Richard Kerr made a reddit post with some information. Main interesting this was ‘as a Bilt cardholder, you will always have the option to make your full rent or mortgage payment seamlessly through Bilt and without a transaction fee. That is not changing.’
- Reddit user PrestigiousCoffee541 was presented two options when paying rent. One was for the option to use Bilt cash to pay the transaction fee and earn points, other was no fee and no points.
Fee for paying rent with credit card seems to be 3%Fee is currently 3% for third party cards, so this doesn’t tell us much. Reader sullim4 found this in the code that shows the fee will vary by card type most likely:- {
“paymentMethod”: “THIRD_PARTY_CREDIT_CARD”,
“paymentMethodReadable”: “Credit cards”,
“chargeType”: “PERCENTAGE”,
“feeValue”: 3.00,
“minimumFeeValue”: 3.00,
“feeSource”: “BILT_PLATFORM”,
“minimumChargeAmount”: 5.00
},
- {
Both of these things seem to mesh with full card details post we made previously. Ultimately we will learn everything next Thursday. How good/bad the Bilt cash for rent payment fees is will really depend on what the rent payment fee is.
