  1. Why would the same government who are already taxing the crap out of you want to borrow money from you & pay interest on top when they can just yank it from you like they've been doing forever?
Secondly, interest risk, when & how does does that happen? if the deal was 2% annual return, what or who would change that? the government? me? and why would I sell the bond before it matures? or is it the government that sells it too?
You see, the more questions can't be answered up front, the more I know I'm entering into a trap and all the trolls in the comment section bank on you not getting clarity before investing your hardearned money into these schemes and that's exactly the catch, as long as you don't fully understand who wins and who loses, they got you.

  2. Bonds often get overlooked by beginners, but they’re the backbone of many smart portfolios. This breakdown makes it so easy to understand! I’m also simplifying concepts like this with animations on ExplainFi—finance should feel clear, not complicated

  3. I've found lots of great bond options on Schwab, thanks! Just wondering if there could be a company name search feature? I haven't found that and it can be difficult to find even with the bond duration and ratings known. The reason I ask is sometimes a primary corp bond offering comes up and you don't have the $ on hand at that moment but say a month later you want to buy those same bonds – like Abbvie, as an example – on the secondary market. How would you find those bonds?

Another example I saw cusip # 403949AQ3 on a different platform but couldn't find them on Schwab w/o having that cusip – so basically I want to be able to locate a specific corporations bonds w/o knowing the cusip on the secondary market regardless of rating, duration or interest paid.

  4. I mean who the fuck does this if they get better interest rate by just leaving the cash in a savings account😂 I can see a multimillionaire, and a billionaire, doing it fine but a average guy with $250,000 in savings won’t usually consider these as worthy investments 😂😂
