My Biggest Roth IRA Mistake I Made

DON’T MAKE THIS COMMON MISTAKE‼️

Many people mistakenly believe that simply opening a Roth IRA will ensure their money grows. The key to growth is actually investing in assets. It’s essential to research your investments carefully. I prefer S&P 500 ETFs for their solid long-term potential.

If you max out your Roth IRA annually for 40 years, you could end up with around $3M based on average market returns 😱. But if you don’t invest your contributions, you’ll only accumulate about $280K.

Remember, every small financial decision and investment you make brings you closer to your wealth-building goals. Stay disciplined, keep investing wisely, and watch your financial security grow! 💸📈

  1. I’m 20 and just learned that a Roth IRA is actually a brokerage account. I thought forever that it was just a juiced up savings account with more rules designed for retirement

  2. I think the biggest mistake is people never contributed into Roth IRA from the start. People should be remindful n see any opportunities to buy the drop price stocks and invest whenever you can. That way you get better average price and invested. I know I have money in right now but I’m tryna average as I invest too for better opportunities.

  3. Biggest financial mistake I ever made was with my 401k. My company had a Roth 401k when my kids were in college, but I didn't actually start contributing until year 3 of the 6 years I had kids in college. Because I was helping them with expenses, I was entitled to the tax credits, so my effective tax rate was extremely low. That is the time you NEED to be in a roth! i still retired with about $350k in my 401k.

  4. Does that mean you use the money in your Roth IRA to purchase the ETFs or you contribute to your Roth IRA and also invest some money buying ETFs etc. so for example if I have $4000 I could invest like $1000 on Roth IRA and $3000 on SWPPX instead of investing the whole $4000 on Roth IRA?

  5. By Investing $75,000 into crypto as recommended by Sarah Jennine Davis, my portfolio is well over half of a million in the past 5 months. Now diversifying into stocks and setting up a Roth IRA. Most people never do it because they’re too focused on a wanting a faster approach but true wealth takes time. Learn to delay pleasure. Buy freedom

  6. Honestly, my biggest Roth IRA mistake? Thinking I could “DIY” my portfolio without professional help. I convinced myself I was saving on fees… but I ended up missing out on serious growth. I’m talking mid-six-figures over 10 years.

  7. ETFs provide exposure to a broad range of assets (stocks, bonds, commodities, etc.), reducing risk by spreading investments across sectors or markets. For retirement, this helps balance growth and stability and can handle future huddles regarding financial security,it is a good portfolio to consider while planning retirement.

  8. I just switched up my Roth IRA to 50% SCHD, 25% SCHX, 25% SCHG, and my Roth 401k is 70% vanguard S&P 500 index, 20% vanguard growth index, and 10% vanguard international index. Seeking best possible ways to grow $350k into $1m+ before retirement, I'm 55.
