The upper class is not the top 20%.
Oh how inflation has shifted this lol the definition for middle class on a family of 4 would need to be around 200k in most states at the moment.
My take home pay is just about $30k. Putting me slightly above the lowest tier. Although I have a mortgage, a few older vehicles, and enough left over to save morsels towards emergencies after utilities and groceries. In short, live within your means.
Thank you
I’m upper middle class.
At 36 it’s weird considering myself upper class. Just shows the divide between me and the truly wealthy
As someone from France, do Americans calculate 401ks into their net worth?
What if my net worth is negative?
Didn’t know the guidelines for these terms. Thanks!
Upper middle class is broke still
And in places near where I am in Mountain View, California, you get housing assistance if you earn less than $273,000/year.
Are these numbers ignoring mortgages? Because my met worth just recently came out of the negatives. Without mortgage im doing pretty good.
Well, what if someone has a income of a lower class but a NW of the upper class, or beyond?
Is this USA specific? If so, does the state matter? I live in California where 100K doesn't go nearly as far as it does in other states.
Prople making under 60k yr doesnt have a net worth of even 10k. There is no middle class
I applied this even though I’m Australian. My net worth is 2 million consisting of house (with a small amount owing), superannuation fund, savings, shares and new car (paid in cash). But my salary is only 145k.
$0 income/revenue, $11m net worth.
Your income is not as important as your net worth and spending. There are people who make 50k per year who are wealthier then some who make 150k simply because they don't waste their money. You got it wrong but hey what can I expect from some random guy on YT?
What if you have over a million in networth but don't work
I lived in Honolulu for five years and these numbers are really LOW are 3 bedroom 3 bathroom condo was $9,550 / per month,,,and yes we left Hawaii because it's Real estate is so Expensive 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
only 600k & 187/yr ? really?
My annual net income is 37k usd and my net worth is 175k with no debt.. I’m very frugal and beat the index with my investing/trading but I can’t get a high paying job to save my life. Then again I live in Canada
This has to be old. $608k definitely doesn’t put you in the top 20%.
No one has a median net worth.
In Bay area — sky is the limit even with 20 million; you will feel poor
So apparently I'm upper class, but I've never made more than $60k per year in my job. What are the high income folks actually doing with their wealth?!
In California, 150,000 income is less than a hundred thousand dollars net.
The average person with $27k income has a negative net worth.
Prove me wrong.
600k as a net worth to be in the top 20% household makes sense. If we're talking invididuals it's gotta be 400k or something since 8% of Americans (as individuals) are millionaires in terms of net worth. I mean, it would make sense I guess ^^.
Upper middle class here in my mansion who else is
This is not accurate.
To zoom quickly into the top category, spend your time studying trading/investing in the stock market. I never made much money in my "career", but have zoomed off the charts on this video's analysis if relative wealth.
That’s a big jump from
Upper middle to upper wow
These are household incomes, so you either have to marry or be a very high income person or have both adults make good money.
The net worth can be done over time with good savings and investments over the course of a lifetime for most people in the US.
"You need a median net worth of …." That makes no sense.
I definitely don’t feel like an upper class. I am in Miami, FL
location is everything though, you can’t compare $200k in California to Kansas
Went from the bottom to the top. Takes work and the willingness to put off gratification.
So my home worth around $800k, mortgage is around $250k, my bank account have around $250k, so my net worth is $800k and I’m upper class? This indication is so wrong. My wife and I only have bachelors degrees and work normal office jobs
Almost upper class nice!
Upper Class Gang Rise Up!
There’s actually a big disconnect between my net worth and income. I am not in the same category by any stretch due to aggressively saving without much by the way of raises. It is what it is.
You kept saying average salary when the chart said median. I think some people may get confused by this.
$600k is NOT upper class
People who earn more money 💰 can easily suffer from lifestyle creep and they become too comfy with their higher standard of living to the extent that they treat luxuries like necessities. They are living richly and expecting it to last forever. They are delusional.
It is best to embrace poverty, simplicity and charity than to embrace the trappings of wealth.
If we just require the basic needs of food, water, air, shelter, safety, comfort, and we do things like gardening or farming related to our survival, then we will be more at peace with Nature.
At what age is this relevant? Those numbers all seem incredibly low.
So I'm into lower middle class
This video topic is very fascinating. 😂
This is misleading. Those numbers sound like household but not individual.
