The Fine Print

• With this bonus offer, cardmembers can earn 5,000 bonus points if they make qualifying Chase Travel purchases with their eligible credit card consisting of a hotel stay plus either a flight, cruise, or car rental.
• Cardmembers can earn an additional 3,000 bonus points (8,000 total) if they make additional qualifying Chase Travel purchases with their eligible credit card consisting of another hotel stay, cruise, or car rental. Cardmembers who have not purchased travel through Ultimate Rewards/Chase Travel since 3/1/23 will earn an additional 2,000 bonus points on top of either the 5,000 or 8,000 bonus points (7,000 or 10,000 total).
• Cardmembers must activate and make qualifying purchases between 3/1/24 and 5/31/24 and all travel must be completed by 12/31/24 11:59 p.m. E.T.
• Qualifying Chase Travel purchases may be made separately, and all combined qualifying Chase Travel purchases must total at least $150.
• Only completed purchases are eligible, cancelled, or refunded purchases will not qualify. The Edit℠ purchases will qualify for this bonus offer.
• Previous Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection℠ purchases made through Ultimate Rewards/Chase Travel since 3/1/23 will not disqualify cardmembers from the additional 2,000 bonus points.
• Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying for bonus points to post to your account. Account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
• This bonus offer is non-transferable and applies only to cardmembers who receive marketing communications for this offer.
• This bonus can only be earned once per cardmember, regardless of how many eligible cards a cardmembers has, and the same eligible card must be used for activation and qualifying purchases.

Our Verdict

Hotels are a 5x category for the Chase Freedom next quarter as well. I assume you can just book three flights to max out this bonus and the type of travel booked doesn’t need to be different (e.g one flight, one hotel, one cruise). Looks to be available on most cards and potentially a great deal on things like flights but make sure to price compare to ensure you’re paying the same rate. Looks like the purchase needs to be a hotel stay + flight, cruise or car rental, makes it less appealing as you can often get big hotel discounts booking elsewhere.
