  1. I'm staring down the barrel of likely unemployment in the next few months so I have been watching a lot of these types of videos. After watching this, I realized I have been doing it right for long enough that I could legitimately take off the next 2 years and still be financially ok. Not ideal, but ok. My wife and I utilize a very similar plan and have amassed a decent nest egg and safety net. Do it folks, it works.

  2. Great tutorial, but for those of us living in the UK, rent alone takes more than 50% of my salary for a one-bed property. By the next day, there’s almost nothing left. All of this feels quite far-fetched at the moment. Zvaizvezvi , I’m just focused on surviving. Great lesson

  3. Thank you Ramit!! I already had a budget spreadsheet and whatnot in place with a serious plan to pay down/eliminate debt, but some of your tips have just saved me thousands of dollars for 2026. I contacted my bank about my credit card interest rate and they got me a new card instead, for a reduction of 8% in the interest rate and a lower annual fee, as well as a lowered limit, and then they lowered my LOC interest rate by 4%! My husband and I cut $75 from our monthly internet/TV bill, cut out a bunch of subscriptions (some of the platforms are offered "free" (included) with various providers), and I got my cell phone bill lowered, as well.

  6. Love your messages! I am 74, have my own home(not paid for), $1000. medical debt, SS, some etfs, and some cash to invest. Should I invest in Index funds? or High yield savings account? Working on a short term rental of my basement. Retired for 3 yrs. now, starting to feel the pinch. Your advice please!

  7. I am curious about what your thoughts are on updating w4 with half of your expected itemized deductions to get higher paycheck throughout the year, over waiting for the lump sum during tax season. This is with only mortgage as debt, and currently working on building emergency fund.
